Your CPU must be Pentium III 1.0GHz or Higher(with USB 2.0) for basicperformance (Recommended for optmal performance: Pentium IV 2.4GHz or Higher) with a memory of 256MB or larger (Recommended: 512MB). The Hard disk drive must have 20GB or more free space. (The free space needed for writing depends on the quantity of data.) and you should have video memory of at least 64MB (Recommended: 128MB). The external drive powers up ok and my laptop recognises the external drive, but the drive does not recognise a disk when put inside. The read light comes on and I can hear the drive trying to read the disk, but it cannot
